Image
MKP  Nhlamulo Ndhlela former party spokesperson    By Sibongakonke Conco  New tensions have come to light within the uMkhonto weSizwe Party following confusion and conflicting statements around the launch of the party's newly announced institute in Umhlanga. Just two days before the dispute erupted, senior party figures, including Oupa Mathebula and then-party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela, addressed the media during a press briefing where they introduced what was presented as a major political and liberation-focused strategy linked to the MK Party. Speaking during an interview with Newzroom Afrika, Mathebula stated that the institute was the result of an 18-month study focused on political and liberation issues. He further declared that South Africans would eventually stop recognising the MK Party merely as a political party, but rather as a liberation movement. However, events quickly took a dramatic turn. SANPARK SLAMS VIRAL IMAGE CLAIMING TO SHOW AN ELEPHANT GUARDING A RANGER

Writes: RodgerMandhlazi A viral image claiming to show an elephant guarding the body of a fallen ranger in the Kruger National Park has been confirmed as fake by South African National Parks. The emotional false story shared a ranger named Sipho Nkosi died from a heart attack while on patrol and was protected from predators for three days by an elephant named “Mnumzane”. However, SANParks spokesperson Rey Thakhuli dismissed the story as fiction, saying there is no ranger by that name and no such incident ever took place in the park. Thakhuli added Mnumzane was an elephant from Thula Thula Private Game Reserve, not the Kruger National Park.

The report came before the National Assembly for debate and a vote in 2022, when Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula was the National Assembly Speaker.   According to Mapisa-Nqakula, ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula instructed ANC caucus members not to back the Section 89 report. She said Mbalula made it clear to MPs that none of them were expected to vote in favour of its adoption. The ANC’s parliamentary majority was used to stop the adoption of the report. Speaking with Mbuyiseni Ndlozi on the African Renaissance Podcast, Mapisa-Nqakula revisited the process. “I hang my head in shame because we could have done better,” she said. When asked whether the ANC had misused its majority, she responded: “I hate to say this, but we did.”  The Constitutional Cou...
